worming programme  I am lucky as Caddy and Dimby share a field so I do not have to be on a programme with other people on a yard....... this is an impotant factor in a worming programme that all horses are wormesd at the same time and on the same programme or your worming programme will not work as effectivley. Poo picking is so impotant in caring for your horse as this helps towards preventing severe infestation and keeping the worm count low..... it doesn't stop it but it helps a lot! Worming is very imortant because if your horse is not wormed (or has a worm count that is to have a poo smaple done and sent off to see what worms your horse has, then treated from this) then the outcome can be life threatening, it can cause colic and a lot of other problems and also can be life threatening if the infestation is very bad....... as the saying goes prevention is better than cure. here is a good link I found that will give more information on worming This is the worming Programme I use When you have completed year 3 you go back and start at year one. Because Caddy and Dimby do not share a field with others and I poo pick twice a day I am thinking of sending their poo off to be analyzed to see what wormer they need and that way I won't be using wormers I don't need.
